What is Bio-identical Hormone Pellet Therapy (BHRT)?
Bio-identical hormones, sometimes referred to as natural or compounded hormones, are chemically identical to the natural hormones produced in the human body. These hormone pellets are compounded into tiny pellets, barely larger than a grain of rice, by an FDA approved compounding pharmacy under sterile conditions. The pellets are placed under the skin during an office visit. The hormones that are compressed into the pellet are steadily released into the blood over the next several months. This method of release maintains a more constant physiologic level of hormones in your body.

BHRT is not new or experimental. Hormone replacement using pellet implants have been used with great success in the U.S.. Europe and Australia since 1938.
