The Value of Meal Prep

One of the hardest things about a healthy lifestyle is that there are so many ways to cheat.  And it is VERY tempting.  You’ve been at work all day long, or taking care of the kids all day long.  At the end of the day, all you want to do is relax and not worry about what to eat. It’s hard to resist stopping at Stripes and getting a breakfast taco on the way to work.  Or even going to Chick-fil-a over lunch with co-workers.  Those options are usually over 600 calories each.  That leaves me nothing the rest of the day.  Meal prep has been a game changer for me.

I have been successful doing my meal prep on Sunday nights.  I plan each lunch and dinner for the week and I use meal prep boxes for my lunches.

There is a lot you can do with meal prep.  In fact a very good article is this one from thekitchn.com.

I found it very useful in planning my weekly meal prep.

You don’t have to get these containers, but they are good example.  I prefer the ones without the dividers.  Click on the image to view them on amazon.
